Uncertainty of testingPatients need to maintain a gluten containing diet - present in at least 2 meals a day for 6 weeks prior to the test. The screening test will detect IgA deficiency, in these cases IgG TTG will be tested.
Reference rangenegative or if quatified 6.9iu/mL if Pos 14.0iu/mL
Action limitsIf low clinical suspicion positive results need GI biopsy.
Appropriate testing /re-testing intervalMinimum repeat time is 12 months in high risk patients. There is no need to retest known coeliac disease patients to assess diet compliance.
